ukva-membershipThe United Kingdom Vineyard Association (UKVA) is the national organisation for grape growers and winemakers.  The UKVA provides advice, support and services for its members and their businesses, it represents its members’ views and campaigns on their behalf to ensure fair legislation for the industry and its continued success.

There are many benefits to joining the UKVA:

  • Is the first point of reference for information about grape growing and winemaking in the UK.
  • It provides support and training for growers and wine producers, from planting, vine care and winemaking to business and marketing.
  • It brings the industry together through competitions and events and forums for sharing information and accessing expertise.
  • It works with the UK government, its agencies, and the EU, to represent members’ interests and lobbies on their behalf to ensure fair legislation and regulation.
  • Is the guardian of the quality standards and the protected names of English wine and Welsh wine, through the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), Protected Geographical Indicator (PGI) and Varietal Wine Schemes.
  • Is responsible for the availability and safe approval of plant protection products used on grapes for wine production in the UK. The UKVA publishes a list of approved products along with regularly-updated guidance on safe and legal plant protection.
  • It promotes research and development into viticulture and winemaking in the UK.
  • It aims to protect the long-term reputation and success of the English wine industry.
